Bampton Charter Fayre 760th Anniversary

Bampton Fair existed even before King Henry III granted it a Royal Charter in 1258 and it is always held on the last Thursday of October. It is one of the oldest surviving Charter Fairs in the country.

Today this traditional Devon fair continues to attract local producers of foods and livestock, crafts and traditional skills from Exmoor and its surrounding villages.  The Exeter Authors will be supporting this event selling books for Christmas!

Members in attendance - Jenny Kane, P.J. Reed, Susie Williamson, and J.E. Hall.

Book Launch Alert

Barefoot on the Cobbles by

Janet Few

 

Janet Few will be launching her novel Barefoot on the Cobbles during the Devon Family History Society meeting at 2 pm at The Pollyfield Centre, Avon Road, East-the-Water, Bideford. Entrance is free and is open to all. There will a talk about the research that underpins the novel, music from Dan Britton, who has composed the companion song to the novel and a chance to be one of the first to get your hands on a signed copy of the book and Dan’s accompanying CD.
Sunday 18th November, 5.15  - 7.15 pm Exeter Literary Festival

The Exeter Authors Association will be performing at the Exeter Literary Festival 2018. We will be in the Clifford Room of the Barnfield Theatre from 5.15 to 7.15 pm doing an evening of fun, fantastic talks.

Award winning authors Jenny Kane and P.J. Reed will be discussing 'From the Sheriff of Nottingham to Professor Moriarty to Lord Voldemort - What makes a good villain?'

While Maura Beckett, Susie Williamson, and J.E. Hall will be talking about their exotic travels and how their adventures through Sudan, South Africa, Turkey, Oman and Devon inspired their writing in 'Writing Travels to Africa, the Middle East and Devon.'

This is a free event and  tickets are available through the Barnfield Theatre Ticket Office.
