Bampton Charter Fayre 760th Anniversary

Bampton Fair existed even before King Henry III granted it a Royal Charter in 1258 and it is always held on the last Thursday of October. It is one of the oldest surviving Charter Fairs in the country.

Today this traditional Devon fair continues to attract local producers of foods and livestock, crafts and traditional skills from Exmoor and its surrounding villages.  The Exeter Authors will be supporting this event selling books for Christmas!

Barefoot on the Cobbles by

Janet Few will be launching her novel Barefoot on the Cobbles during the Devon Family History Society meeting at 2 pm at The Pollyfield Centre, Avon Road, East-the-Water, Bideford. Entrance is free and is open to all. There will a talk about the research that underpins the novel, music from Dan Britton, who has composed the companion song to the novel and a chance to be one of the first to get your hands on a signed copy of the book and Dan’s accompanying CD.
